I can imagine a scenario in the near future where I could walk into any theater on any day, at any time of the day, and watch a film stay with my granddaughter, my family, friends, or just myself with the benefit of captions to enhance the experience of a film on the big screen. The technology is there. All that\u2019s left to do is to reach those with the wherewithal to allow this dream to become a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tMarlee, who became the first deaf performer to win an Academy Award in 1986 for her role in <em>Children of a Lesser God<\/em>, also made a plea for to the artisans in the room to further develop technology that would enhance the movie-going experience for the hard of hearing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIn the end, it would mean a world where people like me can sit side-by-side in theaters together with you without barriers,\u201d she continued, \u201cso let\u2019s not stop there. I hope this award honoring captioning technology will also serve to look back and reach into our rich film libraries to bring captioning technology to film classics shown in film retrospectives and festivals. Sadly, and oftentimes, they are exhibited without captions. As you are the most technological savvy people that the film industry has, you are creating new dreams and realities in filmmaking never, ever imagined with your various technical honors tonight. Therefore, it\u2019s my hope this spotlight on captioning technology can do the same thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe annual awards recognized 14 scientific and technical achievements made by 37 individuals this year. The ceremony was hosted by <em>Andor <\/em>star Diego Luna who began his introduction with a short political quip. \u201cIt is my privilege to host this year\u2019s scientific and technical achievement awards, but first, I need to apologize,\u201d Luna began. \u201cI know my fee is higher than normal this year. I\u2019m very expensive, I know. It\u2019s not my fault. Everything coming in from Mexico is more expensive because of the new tariffs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLuna then went on to express his respect for the technical expertise in the room. \u201cThose who the Academy honors tonight come from different backgrounds and areas of expertise, but what they have in common is this: each is a dreamer whose imagination and skills have helped make modern cinema the global force that it is today. I\u2019d like to take a moment to speak on behalf of all my brother and sister actors to say we appreciate so much your talents; what you create allows us to do our jobs. An artist-friendly interface that emphasizes easily understood physical metaphors, coupled with a robust, physically accurate solver, has enabled a broad range of studios to bring visually rich creatures to life.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To<strong>\u00a0Javor Kalojanov<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Kimball Thurston<\/strong>\u00a0for the creation of W\u0113t\u0101 FX\u2019s ML Denoiser.<\/p>\n<p><em>This denoiser prioritizes temporal filtering using innovative optical flow techniques to preserve crucial details. Novel training strategies allow its machine learning algorithms to denoise computer-generated imagery to the most exacting standards.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0<strong>Neeme Vaino<\/strong>\u00a0for the development of Fireskin360 Naked Burn Gel.<\/p>\n<p><em>This widely available gel allows longer targeted burns directly on the skin, broadening the range of fire stunts performed across the industry.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0<strong>Dustin Brooks\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Colin Decker<\/strong>\u00a0for the development of naked burn gel.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fire for Hire\u2019s gel first publicly demonstrated a \u201cnaked burn,\u201d where fire appears directly on the skin, enabling a new form of safe fire stunts in motion pictures.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0<strong>Attila T. \u00c1fra<\/strong>\u00a0for the creation of Intel Open Image Denoise, and to\u00a0<strong>Timo Aila<\/strong>\u00a0for his pioneering work at NVIDIA applying U-Nets to denoising.<\/p>\n<p><em>Open Image Denoise is an open-source library that provides an elegant API and runs on diverse hardware, leading to broad industry adoption. Its core technology is provided by the widely adopted U-Net architecture that improves efficiency and preserves detail, raising the quality of CG imagery across the industry.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0<strong>Mark Noel\u00a0<\/strong>for adapting and enhancing the safety and reliability of transportable six-degrees-of-freedom motion base technology for motion picture use.<\/p>\n<p><em>The NACMO <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> of modular motion bases enables filmmakers to dynamically control simulated actions, providing precise movements, enhancing special effects, and enriching the visual experience for audiences worldwide.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To\u00a0<strong>Su Tie<\/strong>\u00a0for the development of the sensor analysis and stabilization software, to\u00a0<strong>Bei Shimen<\/strong>\u00a0for the electrical engineering, and to\u00a0<strong>Zhao Yanchong<\/strong>\u00a0for the mechanical design and engineering of the Ronin 2 gimbal system.<\/p>\n<p><em>Utilizing three-axis stabilization through multiple sensors, the DJI Ronin 2 has achieved broad adoption.
