Tether plans to launch a stablecoin product in the United States as soon as this year, the stablecoin issuer\u2019s CEO, Paul Ardoino, said in an April 30 CNBC interview. <\/p>\n

Tether\u2019s flagship stablecoin, USDT (USDT), is already the US dollar\u2019s top \u201cexporter,\u201d Ardoino told<\/a> CNBC. It has a market capitalization of nearly $150 billion, according to data<\/a> from CoinGecko.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now, Tether is preparing to expand into the US market \u201cby the end of this year or early next year, at the fastest,\u201d Ardoino said, adding that the timing depends on US lawmakers\u2019 progress on stablecoin legislation. <\/p>\n
