\n\tQueen Latifah is responding to the news<\/a> of The Equalizer<\/em>\u2019s cancellation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tCBS announced Friday that the drama series<\/a> was coming to a close after five seasons. On Instagram<\/a>, the Emmy and Grammy Award winner addressed the end of The Equalizer<\/em>, while noting that playing the \u201ckick-ass role\u201d of Robyn McCall, a former CIA operative, \u201cwas everything I hoped it would be.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShakim [Compere] and I at Flavor Unit are always excited to bring these kinds of roles and projects to life \u2014 and then we just hope you love them as much as we do,\u201d she wrote in the caption of the Friday post. \u201cThe Equalizer<\/em> blew past every dream we had for it, and having the opportunity to do this for five seasons honestly feels surreal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRatings for the series went down after its run time shifted to a later hour on Sunday nights. The news of The Equalizer<\/em> being canceled comes after fellow CBS series\u2019 FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted<\/em> and Poppa\u2019s House<\/em> were also canceled.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tLatifah praised the \u201camazing cast, crew, producers and writers\u201d of the show while also thanking the fans for their support over its five-season run. \u201cY\u2019all have been so loyal, so loud and so ride-or-die \u2014 and that\u2019s exactly why we keep doing this. We can\u2019t thank you enough. It means the world to us,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the end of the post, Latifah seemingly teased her next project, promising fans that she\u2019d \u201cbe back kicking a** in something new real soon.\u201d She added, \u201cCan\u2019t wait to share it with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLatifah served as an executive producer of The Equalizer<\/em> alongside Compere, Joseph C. Wilson, Debra Martin Chase, John Davis, John Fox, Loretha Jones and Rob Hanning. The show is a co-production of Universal Television and CBS Studios.<\/p>\n

\n\tCBS\u2019 2025-26 schedule will be announced on May 7.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
