\n\tAnother 10 Things I Hate About You<\/em> is coming. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe beloved rom-com\u2019s director Gil Junger recently told People<\/a> <\/em>magazine he is developing a follow-up movie with the original film\u2019s producer, Andrew Lazar. Junger is also penning the script<\/a> opposite Naya Elle James and they have \u201csome pretty good ideas\u201d to make the story into a trilogy, with the first project to be called 10 Things I Hate About Dating<\/em> and then 10 Things I Hate About Marriage\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a010 Things I Hate About Kids<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c10 Things I Hate About Dating<\/em>\u00a0is definitively in the works as a feature film,\u201d Junger said. \u201cWe\u2019re developing it right now.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 1999 film saw Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles in the starring roles as Patrick (Ledger) and Kat (Stiles) fall for each other unexpectedly. While the film hasn\u2019t yet been approved, and casting hasn\u2019t begun, the director admits he \u201cwould love to work with Julia again.\u201d Adding, \u201cShe shaped the lives of millions of women. That Kat character really spoke to young women in a very powerful way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJunger also noted that he would \u201clove\u201d if some of the other original castmembers had cameos or bigger parts if it \u201cresonates\u201d with them. However, the film\u2019s leading man, Ledger, died in 2008. And before he passed away, Junger admits he was going to offer Ledger a different follow-up film to reprise his role as Patrick. Junger told People<\/em>, \u201cI think that\u2019s a beautiful idea, and the answer is now going to be yes,\u201d when asked if there will be a nod to The Dark Knight <\/em>actor in the new film. \u201cHe deserves to be loved.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tAlso in development is a stage adaptation for Broadway of 10 Things I Hate About You<\/em>. The musical will be scored by \u201cCall Me Maybe\u201d singer Carly Rae Jepsen and Ethan Gruska, and a book by Girls<\/em> creator-star Lena Dunham and Jessica Huang. Mike Bosner will produce with Buena Vista Theatrical.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
