A$AP Rocky has revealed that he once auditioned for the role of Star Wars character, Lando Calrissian.<\/p>\n

The character was originally played by Billy Dee Williams but also app<\/a>ears in prequel Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/em>, the film Rocky was auditioning for.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Variety<\/em><\/a>, Rocky admitted that he was not at the top of his acting game<\/a> back then: \u201cI auditioned for Star Wars \u2014 for Lando \u2014 and my audition was trash. I was trash that day.<\/p>\n

He also said Donald Glover was deserving of the role: \u201cMy man Childish Gambino was a way better Lando than I would\u2019ve provided at that time. And I think he looked a little more like [Billy Dee Williams] than me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rocky was also asked if he\u2019s still put himself forward for a Star Wars role in the future and he answered: \u201cHell, yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n

A$AP Rocky is set to be seen in Spike Lee\u2019s Highest 2 Lowest,<\/em> his biggest acting role to date that also sees him star alongside Denzel Washington and Jeffrey Wright.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0The Run Through with Vogue<\/em><\/a>, Rocky revealed what Washington was listening to on the set of the film.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cDenzel would pull up to the movie set playing Pooh Shiesty and Moneybagg Yo, swear to God. Can\u2019t make this up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rocky added: \u201cHe likes to listen to Memphis rappers, but modern Memphis rappers. Then he started quoting NLE Choppa. I\u2019m like, \u2018You know NLE Choppa?!\u2019 He like, \u2018I don\u2019t do drive-bys now, walk \u2019em down.\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Yo, Denzel, chill!\u2019 It was crazy, he\u2019s really tapped in, man.\u201d<\/p>\n

A trailer for the crime drama recently dropped with the film scheduled to be released in cinemas on August 22 before debuting on Apple TV+ on September 5.<\/p>\n

Spike Lee recently revealed that he cast the rapper in his latest movie after seeing memes\u00a0stating the \u201cFashion Killa\u201d star looked like a young Denzel.<\/p>\n

He said on\u00a07PM in Brooklyn<\/em>: \u201cWhat\u2019s funny is that I was looking at Instagram, four or five years ago, and people were saying that A$AP looked like he\u2019s Denzel\u2019s son. I seen those memes, and then in the film we used that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
