Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced<\/a> the establishment of teamLFG, a new studio under PlayStation Studios headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. <\/p>\n

teamLFG originated at Bungie, but has also rallied developers from across the industry to bring to life an \u201cambitious incubation project,\u201d which it describes as \u201ca team-based action game<\/a> that draws inspiration from fighting games, platformers, MOBAs, life sims, and frog-type games,\u201d based in \u201ca lighthearted, comedic world set in brand-new, mythic, science<\/a>-fantasy universe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here is a message from the studio on its establishment:<\/p>\n

\u201cHello, world. It\u2019s a delight to meet you, and we\u2019re very grateful to be joining PlayStation Studios.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur studio is headquartered in Bellevue, [Washington], with team members working both on-site and remotely throughout the [United States] and Canada. We are a team composed not just of industry veterans who have shipped titles like Destiny<\/em>, Halo<\/em>, League of Legends<\/em>, Fortnite<\/em>, Roblox<\/em>, and Rec Room<\/em>, but also industry newcomers with fresh creative perspectives and skills. We are passionate about exceptional action-based gameplay, moment-to-moment game feel, and richly social<\/a> virtual worlds. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018LFG\u2019 in \u2018teamLFG\u2019 stands for \u2018Looking For Group.\u2019 We are driven by a mission to create games where players can find friendship, community, and belonging. We want our players to feel excited when they log on to discover their teammates already hanging out online. We want our players to recognize familiar names and to make myths and memes out of each other.
