\n\tJackie Chan\u2019s latest action vehicle, The Shadow\u2019s Edge<\/em>, has locked down a raft of global sales heading into the Cannes market.<\/p>\n

\n\tBuyers across Europe, Asia and the Americas have snapp<\/a>ed up rights from sales agent Golden Network Asia, including Plaion Pictures for Germany, SPI International for Eastern Europe, ATV for Turkey, and Great Movies<\/a> for Latin America. The Klockworx has taken Japanese rights, while NK Contents secured South Korea. Additional deals were struck with Shanghai Pictures for Malaysia, Prima Cinema for Indonesia, Shaw Renters for Singapore, Eagle International for Taiwan, Abnormal Studios for Cambodia and Myanmar, and Izagur Media<\/a> for Mongolia. Distribution is also locked for CIS, Ukraine, and the Benelux region, with other territories still in active negotiations.<\/p>\n

\n\tCurrently in post-production, The Shadow\u2019s Edge<\/em> is directed by Larry Yang, one of China\u2019s more promising new-generation commercial filmmakers. Chan and Yang previously collaborated on the 2023 sleeper hit Ride On<\/em>. The new film is scheduled for a theatrical release in China later this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tSet in the neon-lit streets of Macau, the film follows Chan as a retired surveillance expert from the Macau Police Service who is lured back into action to help a team of elite young detectives bring down a high-tech criminal gang. The story pits old-school tactics against advanced surveillance tech, setting the stage for a high-stakes game<\/a> of cat and mouse.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project also reunites Chan with acclaimed Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Ka Fai nearly two decades after their last on-screen collaboration in 2005\u2019s The Myth<\/em>. A five-time Hong Kong Film Award winner, Leung recently appeared in Tsui Hark\u2019s Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants <\/em>and he will next be seen in Juno Mak\u2019s Sons of the Neon Light<\/em>, premiering in Cannes\u2019 Midnight Screenings section this week.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe supporting cast includes some buzzy Chinese rising stars: Zhang Zifeng (Sister<\/em>, The Volunteers 1 & 2<\/em>), Ci Sha (Creation of the Gods I & II<\/em>), and Wen Junhui (aka Jun), a member of the K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is produced by Victoria Hon (Ride On<\/em>) and backed by iQIYI Pictures, Tao Tickets, Hairun Pictures, and China ChenXiang.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
