This reboot will be animated instead of live-action, and will tell a new story that\u2019s inspired by the original series<\/a>, which ran from 1974 through 1979.<\/p>\n

Netflix announced today that a Good Times<\/em> animated reboot is coming to the streaming service, marking the first time that Lear has ever produced an animated show. (His credits are truly staggering, including classics like\u00a0All in the Family<\/i>,\u00a0Sanford and Son<\/i>,\u00a0One Day at a Time<\/i>,\u00a0The Jeffersons<\/i>,\u00a0Good Times<\/i>, and\u00a0Maude<\/i>.) Carl Jones<\/strong>, who worked on The Last O.G.<\/em>, The Boondocks<\/em>, and Black Dynamite<\/em>, will serve as the creator and showrunner for the new Good Times<\/em>, and he\u2019ll executive produce alongside Lear, MacFarlane, Curry, Brent Miller<\/strong>, Erick Peyton<\/strong>, Jeron Smith<\/strong>, and Erica Huggins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
