Chris Brown has been arrested in the UK in relation to a 2023\u00a0 alleged attack with a bottle.<\/p>\n

Brown has recently landed in the country for a tour and was taken into custody at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester where he was due to perform later this month.<\/p>\n

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: \u201cA 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The arrest relates to an incident which allegedly took place at at Tape nightclub where it was claimed Brown assaulted music producer Abe Diaw.<\/p>\n

Brown and his team are yet to comment on the arrest.<\/p>\n

It is not yet known how the police investigation will affect the scheduled tour.<\/p>\n

In 2023, Diaw filed a lawsuit against the controversial R&B singer, alleging Brown had inflicted severe and lasting injuries\u201d on him after \u201cbeating him over the head\u201d with a bottle of tequila.<\/p>\n

Brown was also accused of \u201cruthlessly\u201d stomping on Diaw\u2019s head while he was on the ground which resulted in him being knocked unconscious.<\/p>\n

Diaw further accused Brown of \u201cspreading false rumors\u201d about him in the aftermath of the alleged incident.<\/p>\n

It is not known if the lawsuit was settled between the two parties.<\/p>\n

It was reported at the time that police attempted to speak to Brown about the incident but he left the country before he could be questioned.<\/p>\n

Brown had previously been banned from entering the UK following his conviction for assaulting Rihanna.<\/p>\n

The ban on Brown lasted over a decade before it was lifted by former Home Secretary, Priti Patel, in 2020.<\/p>\n

At the time, the British government did not reveal their reasons for lifting the ban on Brown entering the country.<\/p>\n

With Brown free to enter the country, he made a guest app<\/a>earance at a WizKid concert in 2021 and has toured the UK extensively in recent years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
