A key visual and July 19 JST premiere date for Kaiju No.8<\/em> Season 2 have been revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was also confirmed that the new season will be streamed worldwide on X (formerly Twitter<\/a>) like Season 1.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, it was announced that the Hoshina\u2019s Day Off<\/em> special will have its Japanese broadcast debut on July 5 JST.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kaiju No.8<\/em> is based on the Shueisha-published manga<\/a> by Naoya Matsumoto<\/strong>, which debuted in 2020 on Shonen Jump+ and has 15 tankoubon volumes as of March 2025. VIZ Media describes the manga as:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she\u2019s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There\u2019s just one problem\u2014he\u2019s made the Defense Force\u2019s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

The first season of the anime premiered in April 2024. A compilation of it and Hoshina\u2019s Day Off<\/em> were theatrically screened simultaneously for three weeks beginning on March 28 JST. Crunchyroll has confirmed it will be streaming Season 2.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also upcoming is a\u00a0K<\/em>a<\/em>iju No.8<\/em>\u00a0game<\/a> from\u00a0Akatsuki Games<\/strong>, which passed 200,000 global pre-registrations in May after opening pre-registrations on April 26 JST.<\/span><\/p>\n
