The 2005 adult visual novel School Days<\/em>, which inspired a 2007\u00a0<\/em>TV anime<\/a> with an unforgettable ending, is getting a remaster this year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement revealed that the new release is titled Schooldays Remaster<\/em>\u00a0and will be a Windows 11-exclusive.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

To commemorate the reveal, the White & CrossLoad Cafe at Akihabara started to feature posters and flyers of the remaster on the same date (May 31 JST). The cafe is offering a School Days series<\/a> collaboration menu from May 28 JST to June 15 JST in celebration of its 20th anniversary.<\/span><\/p>\n

Before Schooldays Remaster<\/em>, the Overflow<\/strong>-developed visual novel received an updated release titled School Days HQ<\/em>, which is described as a \u201cHigh Quality remake and graphic upgrade\u201d with additional, uncensored \u201cero scenes.\u201d This version of the game<\/a> was first released in Japan in 2010. JAST USA describes the premise for School Days HQ <\/em>as:<\/span><\/p>\n

In School Days you take the role of Makoto, a student at Sakakino Academy. Like any young man, you have your eye on the girls around you with thoughts of more than just friendship, and when your classmate Sekai offers to introduce you to that cute girl you see on the train every morning, you can\u2019t say no.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Her name is Kotonoha, and she\u2019s everything you could ask for in a girlfriend, but when you\u2019re about to go on your first date and turn to Sekai to thank her for her matchmaking efforts, she takes her payment in the form of a kiss. Could it be that she has feelings for you too?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Thus one of the most infamous love triangles in anime and eroge history begins, with you guiding Makoto through the perils and pitfalls of romance with Kotonoha, Sekai, and the other heroines of School Days. School Days<\/em> is the first in the Days series, which includes the titles SummerDays<\/em>, Cross Days<\/em>, SHINY DAYS<\/em>, and IslandDays<\/em>. Aside from the 12-episode TV anime and two OVAs (produced by TNK\u00a0<\/b>and directed by Keitaro Motonaga<\/strong> [Date A Live<\/em> Season 1 to 3]), it has also inspired novels and a manga.<\/span><\/p>\n
