A 12th new \u201cKaiju Hyakkei\u201d <\/span>seasonal showcase visual<\/span> has been revealed for the upcoming <\/span>Kaiju No. 8<\/span><\/i> Season 2, spotlighting Gen Narumi gaming on his phone during some downtime. The second season is expected to premiere in Japan on July 19, 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It was previously announced earlier this month that the second season will be streamed worldwide on Twitter<\/a>\/X like the first season, which premiered in April 2024. A compilation of season one and <\/span>Hoshina\u2019s Day Off <\/span><\/i>were theatrically screened simultaneously in Japan for three weeks, beginning on March 28, 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, it was announced that the <\/span>Hoshina\u2019s Day Off<\/span><\/i> special will have its Japanese broadcast debut on July 5, 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The main staff, returning from the first season, include <\/span>Shigeyuki Miya<\/b> (<\/span>Afterlost, The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior<\/span><\/i>) and <\/span>Tomomi Kamiya<\/b> (<\/span>A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd, Hikari: Kariya wo Tsunagu Monogatari<\/span><\/i>) as directors,<\/span> Ichiro Okouchi<\/b> (<\/span>Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury, Code Geass<\/span><\/i>) as series<\/a> screenwriter, <\/span>Tetsuya Nishio<\/b> (<\/span>Naruto, Vampire in the Garden<\/span><\/i>) as character designer, <\/span>Mahiro Maeda<\/b> (<\/span>SSSS.GRIDMAN, Evangelion 3.0+1.0<\/span><\/i> co-director and concept art director et al.) as kaiju designer, <\/span>Studio Khara<\/b> as kaiju supervisor (design and artwork), <\/span>Shinji Kimura<\/b> (<\/span>Children of the Sea, Blood Blockade Battlefront<\/span><\/i>) as art director, and<\/span> Yuta Bandoh<\/b> (<\/span>Belle<\/span><\/i> co-composer) as music composer. <\/span>Production I.G<\/b> is handling the animation production for the series.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
