\n\tLongtime FX Publicity boss John Solberg is stepping down from the role. <\/p>\n

\n\tSolberg worked at FX for 28-plus years; he\u2019s worked closely with FX chairman John Landgraf for 21 of those. The FX channel launched 31 years ago.<\/p>\n

\n\tLandgraf, the man who coined the phrase \u201cPeak TV,\u201d is an legend of the business; in his own corner of the profession, Solberg is the one as well. For those in the television industry, both Johns are synonymous with FX.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhile this has been a difficult decision, the time is right,\u201d Solberg wrote in a memo shared with colleagues (obtained by The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>).\u00a0\u201cFX will always be a part of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAnd Solberg will always be part of the FX brand.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSince FX launched our original programming brand two and a half decades ago, our creative partners and shows could not have had a better advocate than John Solberg,\u201d Landgraf said in a statement. \u201cMuch of how FX relates to the press is founded in John\u2019s honesty, his genuine passion for stories and those who tell them, and his profound respect for journalism as a profession. After 21 years of working together, I will miss John\u2019s day-to-day presence at FX very much \u2014 but he will always be a dear friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSolberg will finish out his current contract, which ends in January 2026. His exit is not part of Disney layoffs, a person with knowledge told THR<\/em>, nor did Solberg take a buyout package.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere is the memo Solberg\u2019s sent to staff:<\/p>\n

\n\tDear FX Family,<\/em>
I am stepping down from my position as EVP of\u00a0Publicity\u00a0when my contract expires in January.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tWorking at FX these past 28+ years\u00a0has been a magical experience. During that time,\u00a0I\u2019ve had four bosses:\u00a0Ellen Cooper, who hired me, Mark Sonnenberg,\u00a0Peter Liguori, whose vision forever changed the course of FX,\u00a0and my current boss of 21 years, John Landgraf, who is without peer.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tI have had THE best job of its kind anyone could ever have. This place is special\u2014the best people, the best culture, and best shows. For me, FX has no equal.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tWe are only as good as our shows. I\u2019ve been blessed to work on some of the\u00a0most acclaimed, groundbreaking\u00a0and culture-defining\u00a0shows in TV history. I was given the opportunity to be an\u00a0evangelist\u00a0for so many\u00a0gifted\u00a0producers, writers, actors, directors and artisans, in many cases gaining friends for life along the way. It\u2019s been an honor working\u00a0for them.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tI, too, am thankful for the journalists and critics I\u2019ve worked with these many years, and for their coverage of FX and our shows. We may not always agree with everything they write or say\u2014more often than not, we actually do\u2014but they are vital, independent arbiters of our performance, and scorecards matter.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tWhich leads me back to this place. We have the best leaders anywhere. John is\u00a0one of a kind. It is inspiring and motivating to have a person at the top who demands more from himself than anyone in the organization. I cannot imagine anyone at his level who cares more or has a better relationship with his colleagues, no matter their title.\u00a0The guy is the best. I\u2019m so grateful for his partnership and friendship.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tNick and Gina as Entertainment Presidents, and Steph as Marketing Chief are second to none.\u00a0The intellectual and creative horsepower of every department leader leaves me in awe daily\u2014Kate, Jonathan,\u00a0Katcher, Chuck, Kelly, Karen, Julie P.,\u00a0Kim, Nick,\u00a0Sally, Ethan,\u00a0Steve, Lance,\u00a0Kenna, Kenya, Michael, Jason and Shola. I know you and your teams will continue to do extraordinary work, ensuring that FX remains a standard bearer for excellence in this industry.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tTo my peeps\u2014Lauren, Roslyn, Lana, Susan, Adriana, Alana, Amanda, Jesse, John\u00a0and team\u2014you are the most supremely skilled publicity,\u00a0trade comms, photo publicity,\u00a0talent relations, events and awards teams on the planet. You elevate everything you touch. I have been the beneficiary of your immense talent and I\u2019m so thankful for you all.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tFinally, I simply could not have done this job without the love and encouragement of my sons Owen, Thomas and Nick, my daughter-in-law Annie,\u00a0and most of all my wife, Maeve. As a\u00a0communications\u00a0executive, being married to an accomplished news<\/a> producer and writer was a\u00a0professional\u00a0cheat code that made me better at my job. She was by my side throughout this\u00a0journey\u00a0and always gave me invaluable counsel. It\u2019s not the same without her.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tThe compassion and support you have extended my family these past six years has meant more than you can ever know. It speaks to the very fiber of who you are. The same is true of my Disney colleagues, especially Bob and Dana, Eric, who has been a brother to me for the past 25\u00a0years, Joe, Debra, Sonia, Shannon, Naomi, Candice, Kristina, Paul, Michelle, Barrie, Lacey and so many others. That\u00a0compassion and support exemplify the measure of this company and its people.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tWhile this has been a difficult decision, the time is right.\u00a0FX will always be a part of me.\u00a0I\u2019m grateful to you all.<\/em><\/p>\n
