\n\tWarner Bros. Pictures is hoping to be blessed with a new feature based on A Christmas Carol<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tRobert Eggers is set to write and direct a movie adapting author Charles Dickens\u2019 classic ghost story set at Christmas. Eggers will produce the project alongside Chris Columbus and Elenor Columbus for Maiden Voyage.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter <\/em>exclusively reported last year that Eggers\u2019 next project as director is the werewolf horror movie Werwulf<\/em>. Eggers co-wrote the script<\/a> for the film that Focus Features has set for theatrical release on Christmas Day of 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tDickens\u2019 novella A Christmas Carol<\/em> was first published in 1843 and centers on miserly Ebenezer Scrooge learning from the ghost of late business partner Jacob Marley that he will be visited by three spirits.<\/p>\n

\n\tPrevious screen adaptations of include a 2019 British television version starring Guy Pearce, Andy Serkis, Stephen Graham, Charlotte Riley and Joe Alwyn. Robert Zemeckis helmed a 2009 animated feature version starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge. <\/p>\n

\n\tEggers most recently directed the vampire film Nosferatu<\/em> with a cast that includes Bill Skarsgard, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin and Willem Dafoe. Focus Features released the remake of the 1922 silent classic in theaters in December, and it surpassed $180 million at the global box office.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe filmmaker\u2019s other previous features include The Northman<\/em>, The Lighthouse<\/em> and The Witch<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tEggers\u00a0is represented by WME and Frankfurt Kurnit.<\/p>\n
