\n An unidentified flying object in the skies of New Jersey Monday had residents believing aliens were about to beam down to the Garden State until it was actually identified \u2014 as a Goodyear Blimp.<\/p>\n

The floored witnesses flooded social media<\/a> with posts showing the iconic blimp resembling a flattened spaceship with a light shining from it.<\/p>\n

\u201cEyewitness accounts say a body came out of the ufo,\u201d @yahnnisse wrote, noting that the alleged sighting was in Passaic, New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Someone on Instagram posted similar video, showing cars pulled over along what app<\/a>eared to be Route 21 in northern Jersey to catch a glimpse of the space oddity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a f\u2014ing UFO! Look at that s\u2013t, bro!\u201d the man said.<\/p>\n

Another Twitter video of the \u201cNew Jersey UFO sighting\u201d racked up more than 555,000 views.<\/p>\n

But naysayers were quick to debunk the extraterrestrial sighting \u2014 noting that it was nothing more than the Goodyear Blimp flying overhead near MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, where the New York Giants lost 26-16 to the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday night in the season opener.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
