Lil Wayne\u2018s Tha Carter VI<\/em> failed to debut at the the top of the Billboard 200, landing at number two on the chart.<\/p>\n

The long awaited album premiered to largely negative reviews and has failed to have the commercial impact of prior entries in Weezy\u2019s fabled Tha Carter<\/em> series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In its first week on sale, Tha Carter VI<\/em> sold 108,000 equivalent units, meaning it premiered behind Morgan Wallen\u2019s I\u2019m the Problem<\/em>, which has now spent four weeks in the top spot.<\/p>\n

Even a month after release, the country star sold almost double the amount of units as Wayne to stay at number one.<\/p>\n

In comparison, Wayne\u2019s last solo album,\u00a0Funeral<\/em>, debuted at number one and sold 139,000 equivalent units in its first week of release.<\/p>\n

It is also a significant drop off from\u00a0Tha Carter V<\/em>\u2018s opening week sales of 480,000 in 2018.<\/p>\n

The album also garnered the lowest debut week sales for any entries in Tha Carter series as well as Wayne\u2019s entire near 30 year career.<\/p>\n

Tha Carter VI<\/em>\u00a0was perhaps most notable for its\u00a0eclectic features which includes U2 lead singer, Bono.<\/p>\n

The two link up on the anthemic \u201cThe Days\u201d which was previously debuted during a promo for the NBA Finals.<\/p>\n

On the track, Wayne references his status as an elder statesman in Hip Hop, rapp<\/a>ing:\u00a0\u201cI ain\u2019t getting younger, but I\u2019m getting better \/ No time to waste that\u2019s another man\u2019s treasure \/ They say every dog has hit day.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

While Bono, who has previously worked with\u00a0Kendrick Lamar\u00a0and\u00a0Kanye West, sings:\u00a0\u201cThe time of our lives \/ The time of our youth \/ We bow down to beauty and truth \/ These are the days.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The 19 track project features an array of guest artists including\u00a02 Chainz,\u00a0Kodak Black,\u00a0Machine Gun Kelly\u00a0and\u00a0Big Sean.<\/p>\n

Tha Carter VI<\/em>\u00a0also features more eclectic artists such as opera singer Andrea Bocelli, country star Jelly Roll and Fugees legend Wyclef Jean.<\/p>\n

Despite\u00a0Tha Carter VI<\/em>\u00a0seemingly failing to live up to expectations,\u00a0Wayne still has a fan for life in Justin Bieber.<\/p>\n

On Instagram, Bieber uploaded screenshots from a FaceTime call with Lil Wayne.<\/p>\n

Posting a picture of him dialling his \u201cI\u2019m the One\u201d collaborator, Bieber wrote: \u201cChecking in with the [goat emoji].\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
