\n A man on a bank-robbing spree in Upper Manhattan was stopped in his tracks by police on Tuesday, sources and the NYPD said.<\/p>\n

The armed suspect tried to hit a bank in East Harlem before sticking-up an Upper East Side Chase on 86th Street and Lexington Avenue at around 2:21 p.m., cops said.<\/p>\n

Wearing a ski mask and dark clothes, the bandit flashed a firearm and fled with an unknown amount of money, police said.<\/p>\n

He made it about eight blocks, to 79th Street and Third Avenue, before he was nabbed by uniformed cops on the lookout for someone matching his descript<\/a>ion.<\/p>\n

The officers found a firearm and cash on him, they said.<\/p>\n

An NYPD spokesman said it\u2019s likely the holdupper was involved in several other bank jobs.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s probably responsible for numerous bank robberies,\u201d the spokesman said.<\/p>\n

The suspect, who was taken in for questioning, wasn\u2019t immedia<\/a>tely publicly identified.<\/p>\n
