“#Chrishell Stause Talks Being Emotionally Vulnerable on ‘Dancing With the Stars’<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Chrishell Stause (Selling Sunset<\/em>; ex-Jordan, Days of Our Lives<\/em>) and pro partner Gleb Savchenko scored a little on the lower end in their Dancing With the Stars<\/em> Season 29 premiere performance (13 out of 30 points), but the couple is hoping to fare better next week when they dance the rumba.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like we did an amazing job,\u201d Stause told TV Insider after Monday\u2019s premiere. \u201cIt was one of my favorite experiences. I wish that the judging part had gone a little bit better. That being said, it gives us room to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a solid dance enough,\u201d continued Savchenko. \u201cChrishell did a great job. I think if we compared our tango to others, it\u2019s not that big of a difference [performance-wise].\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to imagine DWTS<\/em> without the roar of the audience and supportive cheers from colleagues, but the show\u2019s social<\/a>-distancing protocols resulted in a more sedate environment event though canned cheers were added to the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing second was hard,\u201d Savchenko admitted. \u201cThere\u2019s no audience and we have to be apart from everyone. It\u2019s hard to cheer. We don\u2019t feel the audience support\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe vibe built over course of the night,\u201d Stause added. \u201cBy the end of the night, we were all screaming. In the beginning, it was a little bit quieter.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am super proud of Chrishell,\u201d the pro dancer gushed of his reality star partner. \u201cWe have a long way to go. We\u2019re going to work really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody has more tenacity than I do,\u201d she stated. \u201cAll I want to do is make this better. I hope I can stay on so that we can.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s first, er, step, is to incorporate constructive comments from the judges. \u201cDerek [Hough] was right in that we have to turn out the heels and stay calm\u2026[focus] on the technical parts of the dance,\u201d Savchenko explained, before remarking tongue-in-cheek, \u201cWe have great energy, chemistry, and when you\u2019re the hottest couple on the show\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t say that!\u201d chuckled the daytime soap alum.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe<\/em> looks amazing,\u201d Savchenko dryly corrected himself. \u201cI<\/em> look \u2018OK.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m definitely going to take [the judges\u2019 comments] and try as hard as I can,\u201d the actress doubled down.<\/p>\n

Fellow competitor Johnny Weir sported some sheer pants in Monday\u2019s premiere \u2014 and he’s not the only one to try out a sheer wardrobe. Earlier this month, Savchenko shared a photo of himself in a sheer top on Instagram, suggesting he and Weir could be partners, but are trio dances on the schedule this year due to COVID-19?<\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWhy not?\u201d Savchenko responded. \u201cWe all get tested. I\u2019m not going to switch my partner and dance with Johnny, but maybe we could do a trio?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCan we do a m\u00e9nage dance with you and Johnny?\u201d Stause asked. \u201cLet\u2019s start an online campaign for that. I\u2019d die to do that!\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking of wardrobe, does Stause feel that wearing heels, as often as she does off-camera, gives her an edge? She revealed: \u201c1000 percent! Gleb keeps asking me if I want to wear flats, but I tell him I\u2019m fine in heels.\u201d<\/p>\n

The personal video packages that air right before the dances are a major part of the show. The celebrity contestants are asked to recount the most important years of their lives and share personal stories, for example. Does Stause ever want to hold off from revealing so much?<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I like to live my life,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t think I\u2019m an overly emotional person. However, I find myself in these situations on TV where I\u2019m asked to talk about the most traumatic things or deep thing that I\u2019ve gone through and that makes me cry [sometimes].<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople may get the idea that I\u2019m overly emotional,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut when I\u2019m talking about issues related to my heart, it does<\/em> make me emotional. I\u2019m embracing it. It\u2019s therapeutic to help share and connect. I\u2019ve accepted the criticism that comes with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for next week\u2019s routine, the rumba, Savchenko says, \u201cThe rumba is super slow, it\u2019s the dance of love. It\u2019s also a very technical dance. I\u2019m happ<\/a>y that we got it in the beginning of the season. It\u2019s going to be great. I have so much faith in Chrishell. She\u2019s going to be awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n
