\n\tDorota Eberhardt, a former Warner Bros. Discovery executive, has been named the new CEO of Kino \u015awiat, Poland\u2018s leading independent film producer\/distributor. Kino \u015awiat\u2019s parent company, French media<\/a> group Canal+, unveiled the app<\/a>ointment on Friday. Eberhardt will report to Alex Hamilton, chief international officer at Canal+ subsidiary Studiocanal, and is expected to assume her role later this year.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn her new position, Eberhardt will focus on maintaining and expanding Kino \u015awiat\u2019s position as Poland\u2019s leading indie producer\/distributor \u2014 the company was the country\u2019s number 2 distributor in 2023, racking up 6.9 million theatrical admissions for its features, in particular by boosting the production of local-language films. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cKino \u015awiat is a well-established company with a strong track record, but also great potential,\u201d said Edyta Sadowska, chief executive officer of Canal+ Polska, in a statement. \u201cAppointing Dorota Eberhardt to this position is a key step in the continued development of Kino \u015awiat.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEberhardt held roles at Polish video-game<\/a> group CD Projekt and Disney\u2019s local theatrical partner Forum Film Poland before joining Warner Bros Discovery a decade ago. She most recently served as VP of programming, streaming, and new channels at WBD\u2019s Polish operation TVN. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe has an excellent track record across the film and television landscape in Poland,\u201d said Hamilton. \u201cWe\u2019ll be looking to make sure she has everything she needs to expand Polish content production and align distribution strategies with evolving viewer habits.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
