I don\u2019t think anyone wants anything other than that. There was a traffic of people coming in and out of the studio and one of the people just h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened to be a person from Kendrick\u2019s camp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe let his folks hear the album. He called them and was like \u2018listen, you need to get on this\u2019. At this particular time, he was super busy. He sent them songs over. He called back laughing like \u2018okay, I gotta do it, don\u2019t worry about it, I wanna do two.\u2019 The idea of right place, right time makes everything happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kendrick\u2019s verse on \u201cChains &amp; Whips\u201d has caused controversy for the Virginia duo and led to them departing Def Jam.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Pusha T shares how Kendrick Lamar ended up on \u2018Let God Sort Em Out\u2019 \ud83d\udcbf<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s called back laughing\u2026 He was like, okay I gotta do it. And then they wanted me to take the record off. And so, after a month of not doing it, Steve Gawley, the lawyer over there was like, \u2018We\u2019ll just drop the Clipse.\u2019 But that can\u2019t work because I\u2019m still there [solo]. But [if] you let us all go\u2026 \u201d<\/p>\n<p>It was also revealed that Def Jam were concerned about the optics of two of Drake\u2019s arch rivals teaming up on a track while his lawsuit against UMG was ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>The brothers paid a large sum to get out of their contract with Def Jam and keep their album intact.<\/p>\n<p>Their manager, Steven Victor, said to\u00a0<em>Billboard<\/em>: \u201cThey said, \u2018Find another deal, and let\u2019s figure out a business.\u2019 They didn\u2019t drop us. They were like, \u2018Pay us this money\u2019 \u2014 which was an exorbitant amount of money, a shit ton of money \u2014 \u2018and we\u2019ll let you out the deal.\u2019 That\u2019s what happened. We paid them the money, an insane amount of money. It wasn\u2019t, like, $200,000. It was a lot of money for an artist to come up with.
