\n A security officer was wounded in a drive-by shooting outside the federal courthouse in Phoenix, according to reports Tuesday.<\/p>\n

A suspect was later taken into custody and officials don\u2019t believe there\u2019s any \u201ccontinued threat to public safety,\u201d the FBI said.<\/p>\n

An investigation is ongoing and no additional information available, the bureau added.<\/p>\n

The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. local time in front of the Sandra Day O\u2019Connor US Courthouse, according to reports.<\/p>\n

The unidentified officer, who works for the US Marshals Service, was struck in their protective vest, The Associated Press said, citing a law enforcement source.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.<\/p>\n

Cops also released a surveillance image of silver vehicle leaving after following the shooting, according to azcentral.com.<\/p>\n

The incident followed Saturday\u2019s shootings of two Los Angeles County sheriff\u2019s deputies who were critically wounded during an ambush by a gunman who walked up to their parked vehicle and opened fire.<\/p>\n

The deputies \u2014 a 31-year-old mother and a 24-year-old man \u2014 were both shot in the head but are expected to survive in what LA Sheriff Alex Villanueva has called a \u201cdouble miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their assailant remains at large and a motive for the unprovoked attack in Compton is unknown.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
