The machine was built by Hewlett-Packard Enterprises (HPE) using its Cray EX architecture and fitted with over 5400 NVIDIA Grace Hopper superchips.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its raw computing power is measured at 216.5 petaflops, with a peak theoretical performance of 278.6 petaflops. According to the <\/span><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/top500.org\/lists\/top500\/list\/2025\/06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TOP500 rankings<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the current world leader is El Capitan in the United States, which clocks in at a staggering 1,742 petaflops of actual performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Frontier and Aurora take second and third place, both American-built systems operating above the 1,000-petaflop threshold \u2014 the equivalent of one exaflop. The top three are the world\u2019s only currently operational exascale supercomputers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Europe\u2019s frontrunner, Germany\u2019s JUPITER Booster, ranks fourth globally. The continent also hosts four other machines in the top 10: Italy\u2019s HPC6 (6th), Switzerland\u2019s Alps (8th), Finland\u2019s LUMI (9th), and Italy\u2019s Leonardo (10th).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Still, Isambard-AI\u2019s entry into the top 11 is a significant leap for the UK, whose Labour government <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wants to make the country a leader<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in AI development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peter Kyle, the UK\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a>, innovation, and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> secretary, said the new machine would \u201cpropel\u201d Britain to the \u201cforefront of AI discovery.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cToday we put the most powerful computer system in the country into the hands of British researchers and entrepreneurs,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the first <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications of Isambard-AI include powering a prostate cancer detection system developed by University College London and helping Liverpool researchers discover greener, more sustainable industrial materials.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Isambard-AI\u2019s reign at the top may be short-lived.
