\n\tPedro Pascal prefers to have facial hair for his acting roles, and he has a reason.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor recently app<\/a>eared on LADbible<\/a><\/em>\u2018s \u201cAgree To Disagree\u201d video series<\/a> with his The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/em> co-star Vanessa Kirby, where they were asked to debate at one point whether mustaches are sexier than beards.<\/p>\n

\n\tThat\u2019s when The Last of Us<\/em> star opened up about his preferences for facial hair when appearing onscreen after seeing himself clean-shaven as the villainous Maxwell Lord in 2020\u2019s Wonder Woman 1984<\/em>, starring Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off\u2026 I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me,\u201d Pascal said. \u201cIn Wonder Woman 1984<\/em>, I was so appalled by the way I look. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile he\u2019s thankful he was able to have a beard in Fantastic Four<\/em> (though he did receive some criticism from fans as they pointed out Reed Richards\/Mister Fantastic doesn\u2019t have facial hair in Marvel Comics), the Materialists<\/em> actor admitted that if producers and director Matt Shakman \u201casked me to be clean shave for Fantastic Four<\/em> and insisted, then I would\u2019ve done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new Fantastic Four<\/em>, which takes place in a retro-futuristic 1960s setting, also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn. The pic follows the superhero group as they defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner), while trying to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond. The film hits theaters on July 24.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
