A visual for Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus<\/em>\u2018 \u201cNightingale Arc\u201d has been released ahead of the arc\u2019s July 26 JST premiere.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNightingale\u201d is part of the title of Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series<\/a>\u2019 11th volume, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Nightingale<\/em><\/span>. Yen Press describes the premise as:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A miniskirt-wearing Santa app<\/a>ears before Sakuta, calling herself Touko Kirishima and cheerfully informing him that she\u2019s been handing out presents\u2014Adolescence Syndrome. Apparently, one of the lucky winners is Sakuta\u2019s classmate from middle school, Ikumi Akagi. According to urban legend, posts tagged #dreaming are filled with prophetic visions, and Ikumi is using those posts to play hero. Sakuta sees the results of this first hand when he spots her saving someone. And then apoltergeist suddenly attacks, and this is somehow his fault?! Solving all this might require delving into Sakuta\u2019s unpleasant past\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus\u00a0<\/em>TV anime<\/a> is the latest entry in the\u00a0Rascal Does Not Dream\u00a0<\/em>anime series, marking the start of the \u201cUniversity Arc.\u201d It succeeds 2018\u2019s Rascal Does Not Dream\u00a0<\/em>of Bunny Girl Senpai<\/em> TV series and three movies: 2019\u2019s Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl<\/i>\u00a0and 2023\u2019s\u00a0Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid<\/em>. The new show premiered on July 5.<\/span><\/p>\n

The original light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida\u00a0<\/strong>and illustrated by\u00a0Keji Mizoguchi<\/strong>. started publication in 2014 under the Dengeki Bunko label and released its final main volume in October 2024. (A short story collection was released in July 2025.) Yen Press\u00a0describes the premise as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Bunny girls do not live in libraries. This is simply common sense. And yet, that\u2019s exactly where Sakuta finds one in the wild. More bewildering is who the bunny girl is: Mai Sakurajima, a girl one year older than Sakuta, famous at their school for her acting career even though she\u2019s currently on break. To top it all off, it seems like no one else in the library can see Mai at all, no matter what she does or\u2026wears. Wanting to find out more about this mystery and maybe get a little closer to this beautiful upperclassman in the process, Sakuta launches an investigation to discover why an unforgettable bunny girl keeps becoming totally invisible.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
