Techland has delayed<\/a> open-world action survival game<\/a> Dying Light: The Beast<\/em> from its previously planned August 22 release date to September 17 for extra polishing. It will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series<\/a>, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam<\/a> and Epic Games Store<\/a>. Users who own the \u201cUltimate Edition\u201d of Dying Light 2: Stay Human<\/em> will receive Dying Light: The Beast<\/em> at no additional charge. <\/p>\n

To all the Kyle Crane fans,<\/p>\n

As we\u2019re closing in on the launch of Dying Light: The Beast<\/em>, everyone at the studio feels your excitement. More than 150 previews were published this week from journalists and content creators and their response was universally positive. We\u2019re blushing about quotes like \u201cnailbiting survival horror,\u201d \u201cabsolute blast,\u201d \u201cproject with a soul,\u201d and being called a \u201cstandout game of 2025.\u201d It proved the gut feeling that we had already\u2014we\u2019re making a very special, fun game.<\/p>\n

It also proved that the Dying Light<\/em> community is the best. The preview coverage has been viewed by millions of players who looked at every detail of the game with laser focus eyes, highlighting, discussing and getting excited about thousands of details. We\u2019re spending time effortlessly, reading and collecting your feedback and opinions and making sure that your voice is heard and we know exactly what\u2019s important for you.<\/p>\n

It has always been our goal to make Dying Light: The Beast<\/em> the best Dying Light<\/em> game we\u2019ve ever released. To honor this promise, we\u2019ve made the decision to move the release date to September 19, 2025 to allow for extra polishing work.<\/p>\n

We understand that this may be disapp<\/a>ointing, but our experience has shown how important the first impression is. With just four additional weeks, we can address final details that make all the difference between good and great. Areas we want to improve include finetuning the balance of gameplay elements, looking into clarity of UI, increasing the quality of physics, as well as tweaking cutscenes and player animations further as well as adding last little details.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll keep you busy this summer with regular updates from the studio and a playable demo at Gamescom in Hall 6. Starting next week, we\u2019ll also share an update on the game\u2019s gore and you\u2019ll meet our good friend Bober the Beaver again.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re almost there so please bear with us for the remaining eight weeks\u2014we can\u2019t wait until you finally unleash the Beast on September 19.<\/p>\n
