When a temporary data cloud outage can disrupt the global financial system \u2014 as the AWS Tokyo outage demonstrated in April \u2014 something\u2019s gone wrong with the infrastructure that underpins today\u2019s data economy.<\/p>\n

In the early hours of April 12, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a \u201cconnectivity issue\u201d at its Tokyo data center. The outage lasted just 36 minutes, but the ripple effects were immedia<\/a>te. When AWS falters, so does the architecture of the global economy. It\u2019s not just our assets or money at risk.<\/p>\n
