Cardi B, through her attorney, has hit out at the lawsuit filed against her by a woman who claims she was hit by the rapp<\/a>er’s microphone in a 2023 incident.<\/p>\n

The “Bodak Yellow” star has dismissed the suit as essentially a shakedown attempt.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Cardi’s attorney, Drew Findling, said: “The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney\u2019s Office closed this matter for insufficient evidence a long time ago, but apparently the opportunity to try to make money off of a celebrity was too much for some willing law firm to pass up.”<\/p>\n

The rapper had been accused of assault and battery by an anonymous woman who claims she was hit with the microphone during Cardi\u2019s performance in Las Vegas a couple of years ago.<\/p>\n

There is video footage of Cardi launching the microphone into the crowd and she was investigated by Las Vegas police but ultimately no charges were filed.<\/p>\n

It is not known if the person filing the lawsuit is the same person who made the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n

In clips of the incident, a fan appears to launch their drink at the \u201cBodak Yellow\u201d star prompting\u00a0the rapper to angrily launch her microphone into the crowd at the offender, but it\u2019s unclear whether she hit the person who threw the drink on stage.<\/p>\n

Cardi B appeared to mouth \u201cjealous-ass bitch!\u201d as the suspected culprit was escorted off the premises. She was later handed the mic back and resumed her performance.<\/p>\n

Cardi later addressed the incident during an interview on\u00a0The Breakfast Club<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a really quick reaction,\u201d she explained. \u201cAnd let me tell you \u2014 I didn\u2019t want to address it, because I thought a bitch gon\u2019 go to jail. But I\u2019m not.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me tell you something: it was hot as fuck. That Vegas heat ain\u2019t no joke. That shit was hot. It was hotter than a muthafucka; so there was a part of the show where I told people, like, you know, \u2018Splash me.\u2018\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cBut even when I told them, \u2018Splash me,\u2019 I was like, \u2018Be careful with the face. Because the face is beat, bitch.\u2019 So, fucking four songs after \u2014 nobody had splashed me, I told y\u2019all to splash me for one little second. So four songs after, which is, I don\u2019t know, 15, 20 minutes after, this bitch threw water and ice on my face. So I just automatically reacted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
