\n\tLily James has joined Chris Hemsworth in Subversion<\/em>, a submarine thriller that Patrick Vollrath is directing for Amazon MGM.<\/p>\n

\n\tWritten by Andrew Ferguson, the story has been described as a \u201cDie Hard<\/em>\u00a0on a submarine\u201d style thriller\u00a0that follows a once-promising naval commander (Hemsworth) who is blackmailed by a cartel-like organization into piloting a dangerous submarine carrying illegal cargo across international waters.<\/p>\n

\n\tThrust into a high-stakes game<\/a> of cat and mouse with a Coast Guard officer (James) in hot pursuit, the commander must outmaneuver blockades and navigate perilous threats both inside and outside the submarine.<\/p>\n

\n\tProduction begins in September in Australia.<\/p>\n

\n\tLorenzo di Bonaventura is producing with executive producers Stephen Shafer and Greg Cohen for di Bonaventura Pictures.<\/p>\n

\n\tJames will next be seen opposite Riz Ahmed in David Mackenzie\u2019s thriller Relay<\/em>, which debuted at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival and hits U.S. theaters on Aug. 22. She is also starring in\u00a0Swiped<\/em>, inspired by Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, a drama that she also produced through her company Parodos Pictures. That film will premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe British actress is currently in production on\u00a0Harmonia<\/em>, a psychological drama directed by Guy Nattiv, and recently wrapp<\/a>ed\u00a0Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo<\/em>\u00a0for director Takashi Miike and Neon.<\/p>\n

\n\tJames, who earned Emmy, Golden Globe, and Critics Choice nominations for portrayal of Pamela Anderson in Hulu\u2019s\u00a0Pam & Tommy<\/em>, is repped by UTA and Sloane Weber in the US and Tavistock Wood in the UK.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
