Keefe D is attempting to get the Nevada Supreme Court to dismiss the charges against him for allegedly murdering 2Pac in 1996.<\/p>\n
In a motion to dismiss the case, Keefe D argues there is a lack of evidence against him.<\/p>\n
The filing states: \u201cThis prosecution has captured worldwide attention. The global public is watching how Nevada upholds due process, fairness, and the rule of law in one of the most closely scrutinized criminal proceedings in recent memory.\u201d<\/p>\n
It adds: \u201cNevada law is unambiguous: a conviction cannot rest solely on an uncorroborated extrajudicial statement. The State has offered nothing to corroborate the trustworthiness of Mr. Davis\u2019s alleged statements, and nothing independently connecting him to the murder itself.\u201d<\/p>\n
Keefe D had also filed a motion earlier this year looking to dismiss the charges which was denied.<\/p>\n
In his first interview since his arrest earlier this year, Keefe D denied killing 2Pac.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did not do it,\u201d he said, before downplaying prosecutors\u2019 case against him. \u201cThey don\u2019t have nothing. And they know they don\u2019t have nothing. They can\u2019t even place me out here. They don\u2019t have no gun, no car, no Keefe D, no nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Keefe D also claimed that he was hundreds of miles away in Los Angeles the night 2Pac was fatally shot on the Las Vegas strip<\/a> \u2014 and has \u201cabout 20 or 30 people\u201d who can corroborate his alibi at trial.<\/p>\n The accused killer went on to accuse\u00a0Reggie Wright Jr., an ex-Compton police officer and former head of security at Death Row Records, of being the mastermind behind the murder, labeling him and his security company \u201cmercenaries.\u201d<\/p>\n Wright Jr., who previously testified in front of the grand jury that would charge Keefe D with 2Pac\u2019s murder, hit back at the claims.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s heartbreaking they keep dragging in my name. I didn\u2019t have anything to do with that.
