It is\u00a0based on the light novel series written by <strong>Kiki<\/strong>, which is published under Micro Magazine\u2019s GC Novels label. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the premise as:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>Flum Apricot was never meant to be a hero. Despite zero stats across the board and a power she can\u2019t even use, she somehow finds herself included in a party of heroes. But Flum\u2019s life hits rock bottom when the party\u2019s renowned sage, Jean Inteige, decides that the useless girl is dead weight, and arranges to have her sold into slavery. Tossed to monsters to be feasted upon for her master\u2019s entertainment, Flum makes the desperate choice to reach for a cursed weapon\u2026and something new awakens within her. A grimdark tale about one woman\u2019s blood-soaked quest to reclaim her life!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The story began as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel in January 2018. The light novels, which have inspired a manga adaptation, started in 2018 and have five volumes as of May 2025. <strong>kinta\u00a0<\/strong>illustrated the first four, while Volume 5\u00a0has<strong>\u00a0kodamazon<\/strong> as illustrator with kinta credited as original character designer.
