Gellar, who is also executive producing the series, is set to reprise her role as Buffy Summers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSeeing Armstrong and Gellar\u2019s playful dynamic even while training came as no surprise, as the veteran actress previously praised Armstrong\u2019s casting: \u201cFrom the moment I saw Ryan\u2019s audition, I knew there was only one girl that I wanted by my side. To have that kind of emotional intelligence, and talent, at such a young age is truly gift. The bonus is that her smile lights up even the darkest room.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThough most plot details surrounding the reboot have been kept under wraps, the <em>I Know What You Did Last Summer<\/em> star teased in June that she hopes some actors from the original show return for the <em>Buffy<\/em>\u00a0reboot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cIt will be lighter than the last few seasons of the original,\u201d Gellar told <em><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/hollywood\/story\/sarah-michelle-gellar-buffy-reboot-update\">Vanity Fair Italia<\/a><\/em> at the time. \u201cWe will try to find a balance between new and old characters.
