\n\tSean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs\u2019 attorney said they have reached out to President Donald Trump\u2018s administration regarding a potential pardon.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, the music mogul was found guilty on two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution, but was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s my understanding that we\u2019ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,\u201d attorney Nicole Westmoreland told CNN<\/a><\/em> on Tuesday. Her comments came a day after U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian denied Combs\u2019 bid to be released from prison as he awaits sentencing in October.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn May, prior to Combs\u2019 conviction, Trump said during a press conference that he \u201cwould certainly look at the facts\u201d regarding the mogul\u2019s case, as he hadn\u2019t \u201cbeen watching it too closely.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThen, when he was asked about whether he would pardon Combs again last week during an interview with Newsmax<\/a><\/em>, Trump responded, \u201cI was very friendly with him, I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn\u2019t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe president added that while \u201cwe don\u2019t like to have things cloud our judgment,\u201d Combs\u2019 \u201cterrible statements\u201d about him in the past make pardoning him \u201cmore difficult to do.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite Trump\u2019s latest remarks on a potential pardon, Westmoreland told CNN <\/em>that Combs \u201cis a very hopeful person, and I believe that he remains hopeful\u201d about his chances.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter<\/em> reached out to the White House, but they declined to comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter a jury acquitted Combs on his most serious charges, the hip-hop mogul now faces a maximum sentence of 20 years, whereas he was previously facing up to life in prison. The two prostitution-related offenses under the Mann Act carry a maximum sentence of 10 years each.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
