The Made in Abyss series<\/a> is getting more anime<\/a> in the form of a \u201ctheatrical series.\u201d The first installment, subtitled Mezameru Shinpi<\/em>, will premiere in Japan in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

The theatrical anime series reveal comes more than two years since an anime sequel was announced without a specified format. Previous anime installments, which are inspired by the Takeshobo-published dark fantasy\/adventure manga by Akihito Tsukushi<\/strong>, include\u00a02017\u2019s\u00a0Made in Abyss\u00a0<\/i>anime series, the 2020 Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul<\/em> anime movie, and 2022\u2019s\u00a0Made in Abyss: The Sun Blazes Upon the Golden City<\/i> series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from the new theatrical series, it was announced that a Made in Abyss<\/em> concert conducted by the anime\u2019s composer Kevin Penkin<\/strong> would be held on February 8, 2026 JST at Nakano ZERO\u2019s main hall, with Takeshi Saito<\/strong> and MYTH & ROID\u2019s KIHOW<\/strong> as guest vocalists. (The concert announcement also confirms that the theatrical series is a sequel and not a sidequel, prequel, or spin-off.)<\/span><\/p>\n
