(We\u2019ve already had about 3,486 articles on that topic, and guess what: it still isn\u2019t.)<\/p>\n<p>But SEO as we know it? That\u2019s changing \u2013 fast.<\/p>\n<p>Google\u2019s AI Overviews, Bing Copilot, and shrinking SERP real estate are all changing search faster than your agency\u2019s patience for \u201cjust one more question\u201d emails.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening. Which begs the question: when the landscape shifts dramatically, how do we measure success in a \u201cpost-SEO\u201d world?<\/p>\n<p>Strap in, friends, this is about to get a bit uncomfortable (but in a good way).<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"beyond-rankings\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Beyond_rankings\"><\/span>Beyond rankings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re still sending clients ranking reports and celebrating when \u201cthat keyword\u201d climbs from Position 9 to Position 7, it might be time for a chat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ranking positions are nice, a bit like finding $5 in your coat pocket that you forgot was there, but they aren\u2019t the full story, and they never really were.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s face it, no one cares if you are position number one if a) it\u2019s for a phrase no one is looking for or b) it leads to zero conversions.<\/p>\n<p>In today\u2019s crowded, AI-enhanced, zero-click, personalized SERP world (yes, I crammed all the buzzwords in), obsessing over positions alone will leave you frustrated.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, it\u2019s time to think bigger:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What happens after the click?<\/li>\n<li>Are people actually engaging?<\/li>\n<li>Are we making money yet?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, I\u2019m not suggesting you ignore them completely, but they just don\u2019t give you the full picture anymore.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The same is true of traffic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Raise your hand if you\u2019ve had a concerned email in the last six months because traffic has dropped, yet enquiries have stayed the same (or, even better, increased).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Dig deeper: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>SEO KPIs to track and measure success in the age of AI<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"user-engagement-metrics\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"User_engagement_metrics\"><\/span>User engagement metrics<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Post-SEO means stepping outside the comfort of GSC clicks and impressions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>User engagement is no longer a nice-to-have metric. It\u2019s a must-have.<\/p>\n<p>When Google serves AI-generated answers right at the top, you\u2019ve got fewer opportunities to grab attention \u2013 so when you do, you\u2019d better hold onto it.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s how we should be measuring success now:<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-engagement-rate-from-ga4\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Engagement_rate_from_GA4\"><\/span>Engagement rate (from GA4)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>No more bounce rate, sorry bounce fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Engagement rate in Google Analytics 4 actually tells you if your visitors are doing something valuable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clicking around.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Scrolling.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Spending quality time together. (It\u2019s the metric equivalent of \u201changing out with friends in the pub,\u201d except, y\u2019know, professional.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scroll-depth-and-session-duration\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Scroll_depth_and_session_duration\"><\/span>Scroll depth and session duration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Yes, really.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are people actually reading your content or just skimming and leaving?\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>If they aren\u2019t reaching the good stuff, why?\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Are you making your messaging clear and simple (no one needs to read about your [insert acronym] process until they know they\u2019re in the right place from the get-go)?<\/li>\n<li>How easy is it for people to get to your core content?\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Is your menu easy to follow?\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>UX isn\u2019t just a phrase to chuck about to make you feel super knowledgeable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s becoming a vital part of any SEO work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conversions-and-micro-conversions\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conversions_and_micro-conversions\"><\/span>Conversions and micro-conversions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>SEO\u2019s end goal was always leads or sales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Measuring form fills, click-to-call buttons, downloads, or <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>letter sign-ups is now essential, not optional.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re the real measure of whether your audience cares.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Long gone are the \u201cbish, bash, bosh\u201d days of landing, clicking, and buying.<\/p>\n<p>We need to nurture our visitors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Dig deeper: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>12 new KPIs for the generative AI search era<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!-- START INLINE FORM --><\/p>\n<p><!-- END INLINE FORM --><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-cyan-bluish-gray-color has-css-opacity has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-background\">\n<h2 id=\"customer-lifetime-value-clv\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Customer_lifetime_value_CLV\"><\/span>Customer lifetime value (CLV)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>CLV might sound painfully corporate, but stay with me.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SEO is marketing, marketing is business, and business wants to know: is this stuff working?<\/p>\n<p>Tracking organic visitors\u2019 lifetime value means examining how SEO-acquired customers behave long-term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are organic customers more loyal?\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Do they spend more than those acquired through paid or <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If your SEO is good (and it better be), your CLV from organic traffic should outpace other channels. <\/p>\n<p>Now that\u2019s a metric worth celebrating.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"reputation-and-brand\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reputation_and_brand\"><\/span>Reputation and brand<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>SEO doesn\u2019t exist in isolation anymore.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>People:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>See your brand on social.<\/li>\n<li>Hear about you from podcasts.<\/li>\n<li>Stumble upon your quotes in industry round-ups.<\/li>\n<li>Then, Google you.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Or, vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>So the new success markers?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Think:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Brand searches.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Direct traffic growth.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Increases in branded keyword visibility.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Single-channel marketing is a thing of the past.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Businesses need to embrace the online world in lots of different ways, and it all needs to be cohesive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Talking about a topic in your latest blog, make sure this is filtered through to the rest of your marketing activity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>You want to work toward being known as the brand for XYZ.<\/p>\n<p>With almost half of all searches being branded, you need to know that people are searching for your brand name \u2013 that\u2019s gold dust.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Track it.\u00a0Celebrate it. Your existing toolkit already includes the right stuff:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>GA4 (yes, it\u2019s not perfect, but it works)<\/strong>: Engagement, scroll, conversions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GSC Insights<\/strong>: Brand searches, impressions, CTR.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Microsoft Clarity<\/strong>: Free, simple heat-maps and user recordings.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or other CRMs<\/strong>: track organic leads right through to revenue.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your own custom dashboards (i.e., Looker Studio)<\/strong>: Visualize everything together so it makes sense for your clients or stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You already have the data. Who doesn\u2019t like seeing those little green arrows?<\/p>\n<p>But education starts with you.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have open conversations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Get people on board with the bigger picture \u2013 engagement, conversions, brand visibility.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Give context.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Talk about AI shifts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Offer them numbers they can take to their boss. Revenue, leads, and lifetime value talk louder than ranking fluctuations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>SEO isn\u2019t going anywhere, but it\u2019s changing fast.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ways we measure our success need to evolve even faster.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re not just \u201cSEO people\u201d anymore.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re marketers, brand builders, user-experience obsessives, and yes, even amateur psychologists.<\/p>\n<p>The SERPs evolved. Users changed.
