Tory Lanez has lost his app<\/a>eal to include alleged new evidence in a bid to overturn his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.<\/p>\n

Lanez was petitioning the court to include new testimony from his driver that was not used in the initial trial however this was denied.<\/p>\n

He was also attempting to include testimony from a security guard for Kelsey Harris, which was also rejected by the court.<\/p>\n

Despite the setback, Lanez’s main appeal will proceed with oral arguments set to begin next week.<\/p>\n

The Canadian rapper recently suffered an attack in prison.<\/p>\n

Lanez was stabbed a total of 14 times even though it is reported that prison staff responded to the attack immedia<\/a>tely and gave Lanez prompt medical aid before he was transferred to hospital.<\/p>\n

Lanez suffered serious injuries from the attack with both of his lungs collapsing resulting in him being put on a breathing machine by doctors but he has since made a full recovery.<\/p>\n

Lanez\u2018s prison attack footage was also leaked to the public, revealing the harrowing stabbing.<\/p>\n

The gruesome footage, which was captured by a CCTV camera but partially obscured by an object, shows Lanez on a prison stairwell.<\/p>\n

He is then seemingly attacked by Santino Cosio who gets on top of Lanez and repeatedly stabs at the rapper\u2019s torso as he tries to fight his way out of the situation.<\/p>\n

The footage appears to dispel\u00a0claims made by Cosio that he was acting in self-defense.<\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0TMZ<\/em>, Cosio claimed that he heard on the prison grapevine that Lanez was planning to attack him and had put a bounty out on his head.<\/p>\n

Casio added that he then crossed paths with the Canadian rapper and that he saw something bulging out of his pocket.<\/p>\n

The convict said he believed it was a weapon so attacked Lanez.<\/p>\n

Casio and Lanez used to be based in neighboring cells and allegedly had a previously positive relationship.<\/p>\n

It is not know what led to the breakdown in their relationship while Casio also claims to have been stabbed during the melee.<\/p>\n

In response to the interview, Lanez\u2019s legal team said: \u201cThe recent attempt on his life was savage and ferocious, underscoring the clear and present danger he faces while incarcerated. Any claim to the contrary particularly from an individual serving a life sentence for heinous crimes is not only baseless but an absurd fabrication.\u201d<\/p>\n
