Chance the Rapp<\/a>er has finally released Star Line<\/em>, his first album in six years.<\/p>\n

The Chicago rapper has recruited a star studded supporting cast for the project including Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Joey Bada$$ and the lesser spotted Jay Electronica.<\/p>\n

In a statement accompanying the release, the album was described as: \u201cChance\u2019s global journey, artistically, spiritually and physically, over the past six years. Created with longtime producer DexLvL and shaped by travel<\/a>s to Ghana, Jamaica and art fairs around the world, Star Line blends hip-hop, soul and experimental sounds with lyrical meditations on identity, resilience and legacy.<\/p>\n

“While Chance has circled the globe in search of new perspectives, the project remains grounded in the worldview that has always defined his art: a deep, unshakable connection to Chicago and to Black culture across the diaspora.\u201d<\/p>\n

Star Line<\/em> is also Chance’s first release since his divorce from Kirsten Coley.<\/p>\n

The former couple share two children and Chance appeared on\u00a0CBS Mornings<\/em>\u00a0to talk about the current state of their family dynamic.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cShe\u2019s good. Hey Kirsten! And hey, Kensli and Marli. You know, family is one of the biggest things for me, for her, for my kids, for my mom and dad. So I think the most important thing for anybody that\u2019s having to navigate that is making sure you keep an environment for the kids where they understand that\u2019s the priority.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chance also revealed that his song \u201cSpace and Time\u201d is about his family: \u201cI think it\u2019s a very personal song about, you know, what we were just talking about, navigating that relationship with the mother of my children.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chicago rapper has been teasing Star Line<\/em>\u00a0for quite a while but previously announced that he was putting it back because he didn\u2019t like how fans were talking about his work.<\/p>\n

In a video posted on Instagram last year, the Chance laid out his issues with his followers referring to his upcoming project as \u201cthe album\u201d and not its official title when interacting with him on social media<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright, so this was the main point I was trying to make: stop calling it \u2018the album,\u2019\u201d he said while riding on his tour bus. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t mean that in an ungrateful way. I\u2019m grateful that people are putting in my comments, \u2018Drop the album.\u2019<\/p>\n
