Star Wars: Visions<\/em> is set to take us back to an animated galaxy far, far away on October 29 with its third season. Ahead of its return, Disney has released both a poster for the anthology series<\/a> and trip<\/a>py previews of the Shinya Ohira<\/strong>-directed-and-written \u201cBLACK\u201d short.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main poster for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3<\/em> shows off faces new and old, including an adorable teddy bear-like alien and a masked bounty hunter. Meanwhile, the \u201cBLACK\u201d stills tease the short\u2019s visual sensibilities and psychological theme<\/a>, with one featuring giant eyes manifesting within a mechanical interior to gaze at the stormtroopers within.<\/span><\/p>\n

StarWars.com<\/a> also shared some comments from Ohira<\/a> (known for his expressionistic style of animation, and whose past directorial works Genius Party Beyond\u00a0<\/em>\u201cWanwa\u201d and\u00a0Asura\u2019s Wrath<\/em> Episode 11.5 \u201cForging Ahead\u201d), which were presented at Anime<\/a> NYC via a pre-recorded video. \u201cWe wanted to offer a film that was mainly based on Sakura Fujiawara\u2019s singing voice set against these visuals of intense battles. That was our vision as we made the film,\u201d Ohira said. \u201cAs for the interpretation of the story, the viewers, the people watching it, we kind of wanted to leave it up to them\u2026so that\u2019s how we made it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ohira was also reported as saying, \u201cWe really got down into some fine details for this film. There\u2019s the Death Star\u2026. The setting is really super detailed, and the stormtroopers, drawing out the action in the battle scenes, it was really quite an arduous task for the animators. So that was painful, but it was worth it, and the end result really speaks for itself\u2026. It\u2019s really kind of something nobody\u2019s ever seen before.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
