\n Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who has been blatantly pushing to become Joe Biden\u2019s pick for vice president, said she has \u201cnot received any calls\u201d from his campaign about joining the ticket, according to a report.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have said many times that if called I will answer, but I have not received any calls,\u201d Abrams told Stephen Colbert on \u201cThe Late Show\u201d on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThough I look forward to hearing from whomever April Ryan is speaking to,\u201d she added, referring to the CNN political analyst whom the late-night host cited as having said the former Georgia State House leader was being vetted for veep.<\/p>\n

When Colbert asked her why she has not been \u201cdemure\u201d in pining for the post, she responded that she was typically asked about her qualifications based on her race.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that when I\u2019m asked the question are you qualified, can you do this, that I\u2019m not just answering for myself,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m being asked the question because I don\u2019t look like what people usually look like when they\u2019re considered for these jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that she learned while growing up in Mississippi that \u201cif you don\u2019t speak up for yourself, that people will take that as permission to underestimate you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives them permission to underestimate everyone who looks like you,\u201d Abrams added.<\/p>\n

In an April 22 app<\/a>earance on \u201cThe View,\u201d Abrams said she had \u201cconcerns\u201d about Biden \u201cnot picking a woman of color.\u201d<\/p>\n

And in an interview with Elle Magazine a week earlier, she gushed that she \u201cwould be an excellent running mate\u201d and lauded her \u201c25 years in independent study of foreign policy.\u201d<\/p>\n

But she is mostly known for narrowly losing a race for governor of Georgia in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one takes Stacey seriously. And her public campaigning for the job seems more like a hostage negotiation than an actual attempt to get the job,\u201d a Biden insider has told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cBiden is an old school guy and will always be. Picking Stacey would be like picking [Sarah] Palin. He doesn\u2019t need to throw a Hail Mary. He wants a good governing partner.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
