{"id":68695,"date":"2020-09-17T00:55:48","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T21:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.buradabiliyorum.com\/youtube-squelches-scientific-debate-and-other-commentary\/"},"modified":"2020-09-17T00:55:48","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T21:55:48","slug":"youtube-squelches-scientific-debate-and-other-commentary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/youtube-squelches-scientific-debate-and-other-commentary\/","title":{"rendered":"#YouTube squelches scientific debate and other commentary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;<strong>#<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> squelches scientific debate and other commentary<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/09\/shutterstock_YouTube.jpg?quality=90&amp;strip=all\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n                        <strong>Conservative: YouTube Crushes Scientific Debate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Big Tech\u2019s latest \u201cextreme and arbitrary\u201d censorship should worry all Americans, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/09\/14\/censoring-scott-atlas-should-be-the-last-straw-for-big-techs-censorship\/\">argues Jonathan Tobin at The Federalist<\/a>: Google-owned YouTube took down the video of an interview with Scott Atlas where the \u201cprominent neuro-radiologist and professor at Stanford University Medical Center . . . spoke of his belief that the pandemic lockdowns might have done more harm than good.\u201d The company said the tape violated its terms of service, similar to its claims \u201cfor the many other instances of YouTube censorship of videos about the COVID-19 crisis.\u201d Perhaps it can justify squelching conspiracy theories, but this was \u201ca video from a widely respected think tank, in which Atlas discussed a data-driven analysis of the catastrophic impact of the lockdowns.\u201d It may be time for the Justice Department to \u201cfinally act to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ly antitrust laws against Google.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the Right: GOP Poised To Lose Senate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnless things turn around,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/the-senate-picture-looks-really-really-bad-for-republicans\">warns the Washington Examiner\u2019s Timothy Carney<\/a>, \u201cRepublicans will definitely lose the Senate this fall.\u201d With a three-seat cushion, the GOP is \u201cplaying defense in 10 races\u201d and \u201cdefinitively trailing in three\u201d of them. \u201cAt most, Democrats are playing defense in four races\u201d and aren\u2019t behind in any. It wouldn\u2019t be \u201cshocking\u201d if Dems pick up eight seats or more; a four-seat gain \u2014 and thus the majority \u2014 seems more likely than not. If so, a re-elected President Trump probably couldn\u2019t get new federal judges confirmed. And since Democrats are \u201cnearly guaranteed to hold the House,\u201d a Biden victory would \u201cmean complete Democratic control,\u201d allowing the party to hike taxes, fill judicial vacancies \u2014 \u201cand who knows what else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Iconoclast: The Logic of \u2018Bell Curve Leftism\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a schoolteacher,\u201d Fredrik deBoer \u201cencountered the simple, unavoidable fact that some humans are more academically gifted than others, and there\u2019s nothing much anyone can do about it,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/andrewsullivan.substack.com\/p\/the-logic-of-bell-curve-leftism\">writes Andrew Sullivan at The Weekly Dish<\/a>. \u201cThis genetic reality \u2014 in fact, the very idea of nature \u00adexisting at all \u2014 is currently a taboo topic on the left,\u201d and deBoer \u201cis risking cancellation by even mentioning it\u201d in his new book. But there is a \u201clogic\u201d to the author\u2019s \u201cBell Curve Leftism.\u201d When it comes to obesity and mental illness, \u201cprogressive people tend to believe that it\u2019s biology, not willpower, that plays the largest role.\u201d So, asks Sullivan, \u201cwhy not intelligence?\u201d Its \u201cgenetic roots\u201d are \u201cwell-established,\u201d though its \u201cheritability .\u2009.\u2009. is for individuals, not groups.\u201d In fact, the \u201cvery American cult of education .\u2009.\u2009. exposes and entrenches\u201d this unavoidable \u201cinequality of nature\u201d among individuals (though not racial groups).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Trump: Media Cover for Joe\u2019s Virus Follies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite what CNN\u2019s Jake Tapper claimed on-air recently, there is ample proof that Joe Biden initially opposed Trump\u2019s COVID-19 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> ban, calling it \u201cxenophobic\u201d on multiple occasions, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/thenationalpulse.com\/politics\/cortes-biden-media\/\">reports senior Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes at The National Pulse<\/a>. Tapper\u2019s denial is just one more example of how \u201cmost mainstream-media mavens are brazen public agents for the Democratic Party.\u201d Biden\u2019s camp has decided to rewrite his virus response, and the media are all too eager to \u201cassist [its] obfuscation.\u201d Journalists who can\u2019t \u201cseparate reporting from propagandizing\u201d are destroying trust in the press. They may as well \u201cgo to work \u00addirectly for Biden\u2019s campaign\u201d and spare us the act that they aren\u2019t blatantly partisan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gadfly: The ACLU\u2019s Turn to Partisanship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The venerable American Civil Liberties Union is sending out direct mail like what \u201cyou\u2019d ordinarily see from a political party or an actual candidate\u2019s campaign, not a nonprofit,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nysun.com\/national\/aclu-turns-political-backing-biden-campaign\/91256\/\">notes Ira Stoll at The New York Sun<\/a>. He received a letter warning: \u201cFueled by racial animosity and political desperation, Trump won\u2019t stop at anything to keep people from the polls this November.\u201d Yet the group\u2019s last tax return \u201ccites the organization\u2019s articles of incorporation in stating, \u2018The ACLU\u2019s objects should be sought wholly without political partisanship.\u2019\u200a\u201d Oddly, the same filing lists a staff job of \u201cnational political director,\u201d paid $346,000 \u2014 and: \u201cThat staffer, Faiz Shakir, left the ACLU to serve as campaign manager\u201d for Bernie Sanders.
