\n\tThe sing-along version of KPop Demon Hunters<\/em> is officially heading to Netflix. <\/p>\n

\n\tKPop Demon Hunters Sing-Along<\/em> will drop on Netflix on Monday. Over the weekend, the sing-along version of the hit Netflix animated movie hit theaters, with more than 1,300 sold-out screenings across the U.S. and Canada, according to a release. The film topped the U.S. box office, grossing $18 million to $20 million over the Aug. 22-24 weekend.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt was a big weekend for the film. In honor of the one-weekend-only theatrical engagement, voice cast members Arden Cho, May Hong, Ken Jeong, vocalists Rei Ami and Kevin Woo, directors Maggie Kang and Chris App<\/a>elhans and producer Michelle L.M. Wong popped in to surprise fans at screenings across New York and L.A. The Empire State Building was also lit up gold over the weekend in honor of the film, in partnership with Netflix and the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) and with support from iHeartMedia<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tCho, and Appelhans were present for a preview of the sing-along held at Netflix last week, where EJAE, the vocalist responsible for lead character Rumi\u2019s singing parts and songwriting on several tracks, made an appearance to speak to the crowd about the success of the project and its songs.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m speechless. This has all been insane. I\u2019ve been crying a lot,\u201d EJAE told the crowd at the screening. The 33-year-old co-wrote the film\u2019s breakout song, \u201cGolden,\u201d which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time a female group has topped the chart since Destiny\u2019s Child in 2001. <\/p>\n
