Freddie Gibbs has played down his recently tense encounter with noted rival Benny the Butcher at an airport.<\/p>\n
The two crossed paths in Paris and shared a few words but Gibbs denied that things were going to get heated between the two.<\/p>\n
He said to Complex: \u201cI mean, you saw me standing there. I was just in the airport. Everything that everybody tried to make out of it, that wasn\u2019t true. I didn\u2019t even really, barely even said a word. I was just standing there. I saw him just standing there. Of course, we ain\u2019t in a friendship. What are we gonna do? I ain\u2019t going to jail over that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gibbs added: \u201cThe only thing I really said was \u2018Aye, man, this ain\u2019t the time or the place. I ain\u2019t about to fuck my bag up.”<\/p>\n
\n\u201cA lot of this rap sh*t be on some WWF\u2026 It wasn\u2019t nothing everybody was making it out to be. I barely said a word.\u201d<\/p>\n

Benny and Gibbs, who previously collaborated together on two critically acclaimed singles, began beefing in 2021 after the \u201cCrime Pays\u201d rapp<\/a>er made a joke about the Butcher getting shot in the leg.<\/p>\n
Not long afterwards,\u00a0Gibbs was jumped while in Benny\u2019s hometown of Buffalo\u00a0before a show by a group alleged to be associates of the Butcher.<\/p>\n
Benny recently squashed any idea that the two could reconcile.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t do that shit to people you cool with and that\u2019s just it. I really don\u2019t have no problem with him. He never done nothing to me in life. I have no problem with him. It\u2019s just that I would be goofy. And the people I make my music for would look at me goofy if I would stand next to him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gibbs has also made it clear that he has no intention of ending their beef.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust because I feel like I\u2019m not on the level of that ghetto rap beef shit. I don\u2019t care enough to solve a beef with a rapper. I don\u2019t care enough. I don\u2019t care about rappers enough. I don\u2019t care about the rap game<\/a> and what they think about me. I\u2019ll let them care about that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gibbs continued: \u201cI\u2019m so far removed from that bullshit in the streets. I\u2019m about to be an esteemed actor and a mogul. I couldn\u2019t care less about any of that stupid shit. To me, those guys are like comedy. I make jokes of these guys like that. And that\u2019s why guys like that want to fight because they a joke to me. I don\u2019t even take guys like that serious.”<\/p>\n
