NBA YoungBoy has pledged $50,000 to two charities in a bid to help reduce violent crime in the Dallas area.<\/p>\n

The sum of money has been split between Manifest Freedom and Urban Specialists, both of whom pursue an anti-gang agenda.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Fox 4 News<\/a><\/em> about the donations, the controversial rapp<\/a>er said: “You know, a lot of people be getting hurt, so it ain\u2019t really cool at this point to me, so I just want to help in any way I [can].”<\/p>\n

YoungBoy also said his motive was to “help try to stop the crime”.<\/p>\n

The rapper has had more than his fair share of issues with the law and earlier this year was pardoned by Donald Trump on gun charges.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, YoungBoy said: “I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building – as a man, as a father, and as an artist. This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I’ve worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this.”<\/p>\n

Trump and the White House are yet to comment on the reasons behind the pardon but the Republican president does have a history of acting favorably towards rap stars.<\/p>\n

Lil Wayne and Kodak Black were famously pardoned by Trump at the end of his first term as president in 2021.<\/p>\n

At the time,\u00a0Kodak was in the middle of a prison stint over a weapons charge\u00a0with Trump citing the rapper\u2019s \u201cphilanthropic efforts\u201d as a reason for the pardon.<\/p>\n

Wayne was also pardoned on gun charges as he awaited sentencing.<\/p>\n

Weezy then thanked Trump for the pardon: \u201cI want to thank President Trump for recognizing that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community. I also want to thank @bradfordcohen for working so diligently to secure another chance for me. Love!\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the pardon arrived, Wayne had publicly endorsed Trump as he was running for re-election in 2020, a race he ultimately lost to Joe Biden.<\/p>\n

YoungBoy also followed up his pardon by pledging his support to Trump on new song “XXX”.<\/p>\n
