Albania has turned to AI bot Diella to tackle public procurement, aiming to rein in the Balkan country\u2019s long-standing issues with corruption and organized crime.<\/p>\n

Albania\u2019s government AI-powered virtual assistant, which helps citizens obtain everything from driver\u2019s licenses to pension app<\/a>lications and court filings, has just become one of the world\u2019s first AI politicians.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDiella is the first cabinet member who isn\u2019t physically present, but is virtually created by AI,\u201d and jas been tasked with keeping Albania \u201c100% free of corruption,\u201d Albania\u2019s Prime Minister Edi Rama reportedly<\/a> said<\/a> in a National Assembly of the Social<\/a>ist Party on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Its task will be to oversee all government procurement of goods and services from the private sector, which has led to a series<\/a> of corruption scandals in Albania in recent decades.<\/p>\n
