Drake has recalled his reaction to hearing Future for the first time.<\/p>\n

Speaking in documentary Magic City: An American Fantasy<\/em>, Drake says: “The first time I ever heard Future, I was in some studio in Toronto. I was like ‘how high is this guy, this guy has to be high as fuck’. They were just on some next planet. Esco was telling me some stories about how he broke Future’s music in Magic City.”<\/p>\n

Drake and Future were previously close collaborators, releasing the joint album What A Time To Be Alive<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The duo then app<\/a>eared to fall out with a number of disses aimed at the 6 God featuring on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You<\/em> last year.<\/p>\n

Drake recalls the first time he ever heard Future:<\/p>\n

“I was just like, ‘This guy has to be high as f*ck.’”<\/p>\n

Later speaking to GQ<\/em>, Future downplayed there ever was a beef despite the fact “Like That” kicked off the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThere was a beef? I didn\u2019t even know there was a beef. I didn\u2019t know they had nothing going on. I ain\u2019t never participated in rap battles, man.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Freebandz boss then admitted that he\u2019s still \u201cconfused\u201d by the fallout from Kendrick\u2019s\u00a0\u201cMuthafuck the Big Three, n-gga, it\u2019s just Big Me\u201d<\/em>\u00a0line on \u201cLike That,\u201d\u00a0which prompted lyrical rebuttals from Drake and\u00a0J. Cole\u00a0(who are widely considered to be part of the so-called\u00a0Big Three\u00a0alongside Kendrick).<\/p>\n

According to Future,\u00a0he<\/em>\u00a0belongs in that Big Three conversation and had more of a right to be upset than anybody.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m supposed to be the one who gets mad; I\u2019m still confused about that,\u201d he said. \u201cNobody cares what I think. That\u2019s what was so fucked up about the shit. To the point where I\u2019m so player that I ain\u2019t even said anything about how I feel about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike, why is everybody mad when he was talking about\u00a0me<\/em>\u00a0on\u00a0my<\/em>\u00a0song? So y\u2019all just forgot about me, I ain\u2019t part of this Big Three, I\u2019m nobody on my song, man,\u201d he added with \u201cfaux self-depreciation,\u201d according to the interviewer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I didn\u2019t get mad,\u00a0nobody<\/em>\u00a0should have gotten mad! If I would have been really mad about it and I made something out of it, then someone else could be like,\u00a0Oh, I can make something else about it<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n
