The sold-out crowd embraced the festival\u2019s signature mix of surf, sand and sound with open arms.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tPublic Enemy\u2019s Flavor Flav was everywhere throughout Sunday \u2014 first surprising the crowd with a guest spot during Grace Bowers and The Hodge Podge\u2019s set, where they covered last year\u2019s festival favorites Kool &amp; The Gang\u2019s \u201cHollywood Swinging.\u201d Bowers, the 19-year-old guitar-shredding sensation, will also be featured on an upcoming Public Enemy single titled \u201cShe\u2019s Got <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a>,\u201d which Flav described as an update of \u201cHe Got Game\u201d in honor of women in sports. He also popped into the Transparent Clinch Gallery pop-up art tent and was later seen dancing up front during Blink-182\u2019s hilarious and energetic Sunday night headlining set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAmong the most anticipated performers was 4 Non Blondes, who returned to the stage ready to have fun and let loose. The group fronted by Linda Perry \u2014 who has two albums set for 2026 (including a solo project), a documentary in the works and a buzzed-about song written for Paris Jackson \u2014 lit up the beach with a blistering rendition of Led Zeppelin\u2019s \u201cRock and Roll.\u201d She followed with candid stories, including one about Courtney Love and the song she wrote for her, \u201cDrama Queen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNew songs got a huge response, but the singalong to \u201cWhat\u2019s Up?\u201d was easily the loudest of the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ve only played four shows so far, I think, and they\u2019ve been really fun,\u201d Perry told <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. \u201cWe\u2019re just having a good time \u2014 it\u2019s a nice escape from being in the studio all the time because I\u2019m always so serious. With 4 Non Blondes, it was a dark time for me because I was really unhappy with where the music was. So to cut to now, where we\u2019re just up there having a good time \u2014 I forgot how to have fun. All these years I\u2019ve been so focused on making \u2018good music\u2019 \u2014 blah, blah, blah. I\u2019ve got to be deep. So it\u2019s been fun just rocking out. I wrote a bunch of new songs for us to play \u2014 we\u2019re not just playing songs from the old record because, personally, I didn\u2019t like the record.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tWhile Perry acknowledged that the crowds seem to be enjoying the shows, she said that\u2019s not her primary concern.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t care, to be quite honest. I\u2019m on stage having fun, playing with some old friends, and we\u2019re getting these great opportunities,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m doing my best to entertain everybody, and I hope they love it \u2014 but ultimately, I can\u2019t control their experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe day and night also marked a triumphant return for Sublime, the legendary Long Beach band that last played Asbury Park during the Warped Tour in the \u201990s with original frontman Bradley Nowell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThis time, they returned with Jakob Nowell, Bradley\u2019s son, whose voice and stage presence not only honor his father\u2019s legacy but also forge a unique connection with a new generation of fans. The band \u2014 featuring original bassist Eric Wilson along with drummer Bud Gaugh \u2014 delivered a powerful and emotional set that resonated with longtime followers and new listeners alike.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tJust hours before taking the stage, Sublime learned that their latest single, \u201cEnsenada,\u201d had reached No. 1 on Billboard\u2019s alternative radio airplay charts \u2014 the group\u2019s first chart-topper since \u201cWhat I Got\u201d in 1997. The milestone set a record for the longest gap between No. 1s in the chart\u2019s history. Even more astonishing, the record\u00a0 was driven by an entirely independent team, without a major label, under Nowell\u2019s SVNBVRNT records, Regime Music Group and distributed by Create Music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cI opened a fortune cookie the other day and it said, \u2018You\u2019re gonna be number one,\u2019\u201d Wilson told <em>THR<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cNo. 1, dude\u2014that\u2019s crazy,\u201d Jakob Nowell added. \u201cWe just got full confirmation today that it\u2019s been on there long enough to solidify its spot, or whatever that means.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHe reflected: \u201cI wonder how many songs between father and son have hit number one?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cYou never know what\u2019s going to happen when you put out music. But we\u2019ve got an awesome team, they\u2019ve been pushing hard, and we really believe in the material. It\u2019s been fun playing it,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s cool seeing some of the younger generation get into it, and the older generation come out and embrace it too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHozier headlined the festival\u2019s first night, pausing midway through his acoustic set on the B-stage to take in the view of 35,000 fans stretched across the beach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cThere\u2019s something in the water,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOpening with \u201cNobody\u2019s Soldier\u201d and continuing with hits like \u201cSomeone New,\u201d \u201cToo Sweet\u201d and \u201cTake Me to Church,\u201d Hozier reinforced the civil rights themes that have defined his tour. He paid tribute to icons like Mavis Staples, Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie and directly addressed current global issues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t\u201cPeace, safety and security for everybody in the Middle East means seeing a Palestine that\u2019s free from occupation,\u201d he said. \u201cIt means seeing a Palestinian people who are free of the cycles of genocide and violence we see on our TV screens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tInhaler came off as arena-ready early on at the Park Stage, with U2 frontman Bono\u2019s son Elijah Hewson\u2019s pop-rock vocals and confident stage presence cutting through the afternoon heat. Remi Wolf felt like a favorite vocal coach, leading the crowd through warmups before launching into songs like \u201cKangaroo\u201d and a lively cover of Tom Cochrane\u2019s \u201cLife Is a Highway.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLCD Soundsystem\u2019s James Murphy \u2014 whose Jersey roots include working at The Princeton Record Exchange \u2014 talked about how New Jersey is the most densely populated state. To his point, the crowd in front of the Park Stage for their set was packed tighter than traffic on the Garden State Parkway as the beach was transformed\u00a0 into a full-blown rave.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNote to the festival: scheduling LCD Soundsystem against Australia\u2019s hottest export \u2014\u00a0Royel Otis \u2014 on the Sand Stage is a crime against humanity. Fans were running back and forth trying to catch both acts, and the beach was so packed for the Aussies that people in the VIP section were waiting in line at the boardwalk to be allowed into the more expensive section, which was overpacked.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSeveral artists gave shout-outs to New Jersey. Gigi Perez, from Hackensack, paid homage to her roots and \u201cfellow New Jerseyans\u201d with her dreamy track \u201cSugar Water\u201d and viral hit \u201cSailor Song,\u201d which has Radiohead-like vocal echoes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tLenny Kravitz, originally from New York, shared that his first four albums were recorded in Hoboken, New Jersey, and his sultry renditions of songs like \u201cAlways on the Run\u201d had the crowd swooning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBlink-182\u2019s Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus praised Jersey girls, joking that the crowd looked better than the one in Buffalo (likely a tour staple), while Hozier introduced Washington Township\u2019s Ryan Connors as his new music director.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe entire weekend came to a close with a bombastic, hit-filled set from Blink-182, complete with an on-screen middle finger engulfed in flames and a fireworks show exploding over the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tTracks like \u201cAll the Small Things,\u201d \u201cI Miss You,\u201d and \u201cDammit\u201d had the crowd screaming into the night.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
