“#Madonna to Co-Write and Direct Her Own Biopic With Diablo Cody<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Madonna has teamed with screenwriter Diablo Cody to co-write and direct her own biopic, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> notes. \u201cI want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer\u2014a human being, trying to make her way in this world,\u201d\u00a0Madonna said in a statement. \u201cThe focus of this film will always be music.\u00a0Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It\u2019s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.\u201d<\/p>\n

The upcoming film will be produced by Amy Pascal along with Universal. \u201cMadonna is the ultimate icon, humanitarian, artist and rebel,\u201d Universal Filmed Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley said in a statement. \u201cWith her singular gift of creating art that is as accessible as it is boundary-pushing, she has shaped our culture in a way very few others have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madonna released her latest studio album Madame X<\/em> in 2019. She recently featured on a remix of Dua Lipa\u2019s \u201cLevitating\u201d alongside the Blessed Madonna and Missy Elliott.<\/p>\n

Diablo Cody wrote Juno<\/em>, Young Adult<\/em>, Tully<\/em>, Jennifer\u2019s Body<\/em>, and more. She recently penned Alanis Morissette\u2019s Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill<\/em>.<\/p>\n
