Bitwise\u2019s Matt Hougan says a more straightforward SEC listing process could lead to more crypto ETFs, but that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019ll all attract money.<\/p>\n

The US Securities and Exchange Commission streamlining the app<\/a>roval process for crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) may trigger a surge of new offerings, but that doesn\u2019t guarantee their success, a crypto executive warns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe adoption of generic listing standards \u2014 which could come as early as October \u2014 will likely usher in a ton of new crypto ETPs. This is intuitive, but it\u2019s also backed up by ETF history,\u201d Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan said<\/a> in a report on Monday.<\/p>\n

However, Hougan warned that the launch of a crypto ETF should not be confused with renewed hype for cryptocurrency.\u00a0<\/p>\n
