Kenshi Yonezu<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cKICK BACK,\u201d the opening theme<\/a> for the Chainsaw Man<\/em> TV anime<\/a>, has become the first Japanese-language song to receive a Platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Platinum certification is given to songs that have sold at least one million units. \u201cKICK BACK\u201d received the Gold certification (at least 500,000 units sold) in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

The song was originally released in October 2022. It performed well on multiple charts, reaching number one on Billboard Japan\u2019s Hot Animation and Hot 100 charts, and entering the top 20 of the UK\u2019s Official Rock & Metal Singles Chart and the top 30 of Billboard\u2019s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. It also entered Spotify\u2019s Global Top 50, said to be a first for a Japanese artist.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKICK BACK\u201d recently received a remix from American duo Frost Children<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
