\n CHICAGO \u2014 Umpires hastily cleared the field during the Cubs-Indians game on Wednesday night at Wrigley Field when a small drone flew into the ballpark over the left-center bleachers and landed on the grass as Willson Contreras came to bat with with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.<\/p>\n

After it landed, the blinking drone took off, hovered at about 100 feet, then pulled away and vanished into the night beyond the center-field scoreboard.<\/p>\n

Following a seven-minute delay, Contreras resumed his at-bat and grounded out to Indians pitcher Aaron Civale.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust another thing thrown at you,\u201d Civale said after the Cubs\u2019 3-2 win in 10 innings. \u201cBut it happ<\/a>ened. You\u2019ve just got to push through those things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Javier B\u00e1ez said the Cubs didn\u2019t take the the drone incursion lightly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw it and it just kept getting closer,\u201d he said. \u201cYou never know what\u2019s the deal with a drone. We just stayed away from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

B\u00e1ez\u2019s RBI single in the 10th lifted the Cubs to their fourth straight win.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
