Instead, Astatke and his longtime touring band remade 11 of his favorite compositions, many of them relatively deep cuts, with new arrangements featuring a full panorama of Western and Ethiopian instruments.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            The album begins with the tuning of the low-range, harp-like begena, leading into an extended vamp that prefaces the project\u2019s longest, freest track. And in the brief \u201cMotherland Intro,\u201d a Romantic melody is bowed out dramatically on the single-stringed masenqo. The record\u2019s most recognizable cut, \u201cY\u00e8k\u00e8rmo S\u00e8w\u201d \u2014 popularized stateside by its <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance on the soundtrack to Jim Jamusch\u2019s 2005 film <i>Broken Flowers<\/i> \u2014 is stretched out to almost double its original length, allowing for new combinations and collisions.
